the bucks

a new starbucks just opened up near my house. im actually pretty excited about it for a couple reason, 1) its right near my house, and more importantly 2) the windows and the seating area face west so the afternoon sun will hit them just right. ive been writing a lot lately and am always in the market for a good afternoon writing spot that is away from my house as there are far too many distractions there. grande iced non-fat mocha with no whips will never have tasted so good.

starbucks has the most aggressive and fascinatingly genius business plan ever. they literally plan to have a starbucks within five minutes of eachother in every major city in the world; as if ten minutes is going to make you go to coffee bean instead. their plan is working. im able to connect the starbucks dots around here and can think of five or six that i could get to within five minutes of eachother. incredible. if the antichrist doesnt take over the world, i believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that starbucks will..

psalms 324

driving to work this morning for one of the last times, i drove past some asshole in a porsche. ordinarily, i wouldnt have thought twice about this guy, nor would i have thought he was an asshole based on the car he was driving; but this guy had the audacity to put a license plate frame on his car that said “Psalm 324″. ive got nothing against christians, and ive got nothing against men who feel like they need to prove theyre men by driving a porsche, what i do have a problem with is this guy thinking he’s doing god a favor by displaying a bible verse. correct me if im wrong, but if this guy were to downgrade to a honda and donated the difference between the hondas 300 dollar car payment and the porsches 1500 car payment to his favorite charity, or to the red cross, or to a katrina relief fund, he would be making a SERIOUS difference in someones life, if not multiple peoples lives. instead, he spends 18,000 dollars per year on a car. im sure jesus is grateful that he is representing biblicalness, but, i have to think that if he were a true believer/do-gooder like he purports to be, than he would be doing something much more beneficial with his money.

what would jesus do? would he live a lavish life of luxury and drive a porsche? oh thats right, homeboy was a carpentar and cruised on a donkey…
